Stanza surged out ahead early as the best commercial ebook reader for the iPhone. You can purchase titles from a catalog of over 50,000 books or select from another 50,000 free classic titles. That's a pretty big library in your pocket. Acquired by Amazon in early 2009, they have yet to combine Stanza with the Kindle reader and seem content to keep it as a separate app.
